1. The agreement
These terms apply between QRCode by saiberlab and the person or organisation using the service. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by people you invite to your workspace. Keep your credentials secure, enable two-factor authentication, and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised. You must be 16 or older.
3. What we provide
Generation of static and dynamic QR codes, hosting for the pages those codes point at, redirect handling for dynamic codes, analytics on scans, and the features included in your plan. Plan limits are shown on the pricing page and enforced against your account on the server.
Static codes contain your content directly. Once printed, they work forever and do not depend on us. Dynamic codes depend on our redirect service continuing to resolve them — which is what makes them editable, and which is the thing you are paying for.
4. Payment
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, by card.
- Where a plan includes a trial, we tell you its length before you start and you may cancel at any point during it without being charged.
- Prices may change. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days' notice before a change affects them, and may cancel instead.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate part-months.
- Annual plans cancelled mid-term are not refunded except where the law requires it, or where the service failed to deliver what you paid for.
5. What happens if payment fails
This clause is here because it is the one that affects things you have already printed.
- We retry the payment and email you. Your dynamic codes continue to redirect throughout.
- After 30 days without a successful payment, the account moves to the free plan. Codes within the free plan's limits keep working. Codes above them are suspended and show a notice page rather than a dead link or an error.
- Suspended codes are not deleted. Pay, and every one of them resumes pointing where it did before — the printed artwork never has to change.
- We will not delete a dynamic code's redirect for non-payment without giving you at least 30 days' notice by email.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use QRCode to point a code at, or host, content that:
- is illegal, or promotes illegal activity;
- impersonates a person or organisation, or is designed to obtain credentials, payment details or personal data under a false identity;
- distributes malware, or leads somewhere that does;
- infringes someone else's intellectual property;
- harasses, threatens or targets an individual;
- is sexual content involving minors, or promotes violence or hatred.
You also may not resell the service as your own except under a plan that permits it, attempt to circumvent plan limits, probe or attack our infrastructure, or use automated means to place load on the service beyond your plan's API allowance.
Because a printed code is hard to recall, we take abuse of the redirect service seriously: a code found pointing at a phishing or malware destination may be suspended immediately and without notice. We would rather that than let a code we serve harm the person who scanned it.
7. Your content
You keep every right you have in what you upload and create. You grant us the licence needed to host, process, display and deliver it — nothing wider, and it ends when you delete the content. We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it.
Codes and artwork you generate are yours to use commercially, including after you stop paying us.
8. Availability
We aim for 99.9% monthly availability of the redirect service, which is the part that has to be up when somebody points a phone at a poster. Enterprise agreements may include a contractual SLA with service credits. Planned maintenance is announced in advance and scheduled to avoid peak hours; the redirect path is designed to keep serving from cache during maintenance on other components.
9. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate an account for a material breach of these terms, for non-payment as described above, or where we are legally required to. Except for serious abuse, we will give you notice and a chance to put it right first.
On termination you have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted.
10. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data where you had the ability to export it. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them. If you do not, you may cancel and receive a refund of any unused prepaid period.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
