QR code for a Wi-Fi network
Guests join by pointing a camera at it — no typing a long password off a card, no staff dictating it across a room.
Encoded directly into the pattern. Anyone who can see the code can read it.
A starting point. Every template here has been decode-tested.

Two colours blended across the pattern. Keep both dark.
Above 0.15 the pattern thins out and gets harder to scan in print.
PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, up to 2 MB. Error correction is raised automatically so the code still scans.
A short instruction measurably increases the number of people who scan.
Higher error correction survives more damage but makes the pattern denser.
The standard is 4. Less than that and scanners struggle to find the code against busy artwork.

Worth knowing
- Works offline. The network name, security type and password are encoded in the code itself, so nothing is fetched and no internet connection is needed to join.
- Because the password is in the pattern, anyone who photographs the code has it. Use a guest network rather than the one your till runs on.
- Hidden networks need the hidden flag set, or phones will not find the network after reading the code.
